Hi all! Welcome to Mount Desert Island!

Home to Acadia National Park, this rugged jewel of an island is, in this writer's opinion, the most beautiful place in the world. Annie's family has been coming up to MDI for generations. Over the last few years, the Lynches have watched with glee as Joey has fallen in love with Acadia (particularly the freezing ocean dips).

We are overjoyed and profoundly grateful to be able to get married here with our community in attendance. We know for that for many of you this will be your first time in Maine! We've provided more detail about the island and places to stay below. We mean it when we say please don't hesitate to reach out!

We have listed inns and hotels in Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and Southwest Harbor. There's no official wedding hotel, but we'd recommend staying in one of these areas.

Northeast Harbor is the most convenient location for wedding events, but both Southwest Harbor and Bar Harbor are a short 15-20 minute drive away.

A bit about these spots:

Bar Harbor is a bustling port town with many (many!) hotels, shops, and restaurants. There's a fun and lively atmosphere there in the summer months.

Northeast Harbor is a smaller, seasonal town, though its Main Street has enough eateries and coffee shops to keep the visitor satisfied.

Southwest Harbor is a larger town with a year-round community. There are a number of great inns on this part of the island that's affectionately referred to as the "quietside."
